The Dean's Award for academic excellence is awarded to recipients with a 3.30 or higher grade-point average while enrolled in 3.75 or more course hours.

Approximately 1,100 new freshmen, selected from 11,589 applicants, will begin their studies at SUNY Oneonta this fall. Classes start on Monday, Aug. 25. The SUNY Oneonta Class of 2018 has an average high school grade-point average of 91 and an average combined math and critical reading SAT score of 1127.

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced its Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester. Dean's List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 861 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2014 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by Interim President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

The 37th annual spring Induction Ceremony of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Ithaca College was held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Hockett Family Recital Hall. During this year's induction, 102 students have been added to the chapter membership.

Several local residents were among the 44 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Academic Team for the Fall semester, the conference announced last week. Players named to the All-Academic Team have a minimum 3.3 G.P.A. for the Fall 2013 semester

More than 540 students from high schools and middle schools in Queens and Long Island competed in the 34th Annual Long Island Regional History Day contest at Hofstra University on March 9, 2014. History Day is a national, year-long educational program that encourages students to explore local, state and national history through documentaries, exhibits, papers and performances.
